Loki, the restaurant in Portimao, is quite unique: it only has two tables and serves a maximum of six people per night. It's modest, rustic and authentic. Owner, Chef, waiter, Joao Morreiros, (yes, he is the only person working there), has created a special experience. There is no set menu, instead Joao serves 11 courses and they are different every time, so you do not know what you will get until he presents and explains each dish to you. All produce comes from within 100km and Joao works exclusively with produce from the Algarve. He makes his own butter, soy, and prepares his own flour for the bread. We visited in October 2022 and it was a truly great experience of authored cuisine.

The Portuguese Grand Prix will take place on May 2, 2021. Held at the Portimao race track
Both Portimao and Imola will act as reserves in case any of the other races fall victim to Covid-19-related cancellations. 2020 gave us the chance to witness ludicrously quick modern F1 cars at Portimao. Under the contingency plan for the reorganised 2021 F1 calendar, the championship would then continue at Imola on April 18th and the Algarve circuit near Portimao on May 2nd. Fingers Crossed!
