FerragudoNestled on the banks of the Arade river, you will find the fishing village of Ferragudo; a beautiful hidden gem that has retained its traditional charm amongst its neighbouring resorts along the incredible Algarvian coastline. From the waterside a warren of picturesque cobbled streets lined with whitewashed cottages rise up into the old village with many restaurants, bars and shops to explore as well as a beautiful old church whose terrace boasts great views across the river to Ferragudo’s own medieval castle which commands an elevated position on the headland of one of its many stunning beaches. The main square is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks and at the weekends some local live music.

Beautiful Sandy Beaches
If you want beaches you are spoilt for choice: the main beach, Praia Grande, has four beach restaurants, where you can stop for lunch or enjoy a drink watching the stunning sunsets. Club Nau Beach Bar and Restaurant has a regular program of live music from local bands. Praia Dos Caneiros is a gem with the benefit of one of the best fish restaurants in the Algarve and only five minutes by car. Pintadinho beach with perfect golden sand and a blue flag award is only four minutes by car and can also be reached by a lovely cliff walk. The view from the clifftop is well worth it with views west to Ponta da Piedade in Lagos. All the beaches are all safe and clean.
